Although the U-Keys are small ( 3.7cm) they feel great. This is absolutely not a toy. U-Key has a built-in 64-voice GM-compatible sound engine that delivers vibrant and punchy music through its internal digitally amplified speaker system. MIDI songs and accompaniment can be played back in many different styles, including loop variation and chord change features that can be triggered and re-triggered in real time from the front panel. New MIDI songs and styles can be downloaded from theCMEsite.com and loaded into the keyboard via USB. |
| More than 20 user-defined controllers including joystick, trigger pads, an encoder for data entry, pedals are featured. All the controllers are programmable and all the functions of U-Key can be quickly and easily setup using simple and direct key presses. You can save your controller settings into U-Key and load them any time they want. U-Key has a plug and play USB MIDI driver for Windows XP / MAC OSX, and it can be powered via USB. |

Although the U-Key looks like a mere controller it’s not. It features a 64-voice GM compatible soundset that sounds terrific. Initially, though, the U-Key certainly makes a perfect composition tool for today’s laptop musician with its line out, phones out and compact size. The U-Key has more up its sleeve, though, such as Game Mode, where you test and improve your playing and general music skills. Those so inclined will also be intrigued to learn of the multi-ethnic scales – perfect for both Arabian and Asian music styles. With its U-CTRL feature the U-Key is also a snap to hook up with your music software. No loading of templates or presets required. Just press U-CTRL button and all the controllers for the software you use will be ready. |
